"Pallikoodam better than Paruthiveeran"

Thangar Bachchan is adept in bringing out the finer emotions of people belonging to the lower strata of society on the celluloid in a lucid and well structured manner. His earlier films azhagi, solla maranda kadai, chidambarathil oru appa samy are standing examples of this

director's obstinacy in presenting films sans the usual quotients of main stream cinema. His recent creation 'Pallikoodam' was sent to Cannes film festival and it currently figures in the list of movies that are short listed for an award.

While talking about this, the proud and happy director says, "After a long interval, a Tamil film which has earned the reputation of getting short listed for an award at the Cannes is Pallikoodam. Veyil and Paruthiveeran have been sent merely for screening and not for competitive purposes". He also mentioned that Pallikoodam has been inspired from his novel 'kalavaadiya pozhudugal' written a few years back.
